The aim of the ITHEN network is to deliver a technical higher education constantly aligned with the market’s needs

In 2020, coronavirus gave a strong boost to companies’ request of digital skills. This is happening on an advanced level in ICT-related jobs, but also in non-ICT-related occupations, where digital skills are considered as transversal skills.

Cedefop (the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training) has investigated this aspect and the state of the art on digitalisation of workers around Europe. A big gap on digital skills still exists between different regions, different age groups and on the basis of degree of urbanisation.

The ITHEN network will have to pay specific attention to this issue when developing its courses and their contents.
